Mount Tabor is a cosy cottage within walking distance of the village pub and shop and post office. It offers comfortable accommodation in a traditional style, with an open fire if desired.
It sits in the North Norfolk coastal village of Stiffkey — famous for its infamous vicar — near Wells-next-the-Sea, and is well known for its proximity to several good bird-watching sites.
The kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge and microwave. On the first floor there is a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with bath, washbasin and WC. Two pets are welcome by application.

It is 45 minutes from Faro airport and ten minutes from the beach, with easy local access to bars, restaurants and banks, and a train and bus service within half a mile.
The house has television, air conditioning and a splash pool with a delightful courtyard, and all normal facilities. Transport from the airport can be arranged, and there is a 10% discount for all NARPO members.

The Garden Flat, Harrogate

Dick Rothwell, a Cumbria branch member, and his wife offer the Garden Flat, which sits underneath their property in the centre of Harrogate. It is let by the night — minimum two nights — to sensible, discerning folk, and is not advertised on any website or social media. It is a real alternative to a hotel bedroom.
The property is a gentle four or five minute walk into town, with the Turkish Baths, the park, trains to York and, of course, Bettys. Harrogate makes a good base for Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Thirsk and Knaresborough.
The flat has one double bedroom with fitted wardrobes; a full-size fitted kitchen with an eating area and high-end appliances; a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and board; a bathroom with shower; and a lounge with USB charging and a smart television with Freesat. There is off-street parking for one vehicle, secure bicycle storage, private front and rear entrances and fast fibre broadband throughout.
Tea and coffee are waiting on arrival, and a pint of semi-skimmed in the fridge. The owners are discreetly absent thereafter, but handy should anything go wrong. One well-behaved, quiet dog by prior telephone arrangement.
The cost for Manchester & District NARPO and the wider police family is £95 per night — an 18% reduction on the standard price.
