  • Roger COLES

    Aged: 72

    Formerly of Lancs County and GMP, especially the Motorway Group. Known as "Mr Motorway"

    Roger served on Traffic in Lancashire, and was the backbone of the GMP Motorway Group for many years. When they finally prised the keys for the Range Rover out of Roger's hand he became the civilian Traffic Management Officer for the Motorway Group. When they closed that position down he became the Freedom of Information Officer for GMP. Lately he was working as PR man for the contractors upgrading[?] the Manchester Motorway Network to "Smart Motorway".

    Formerly of GMP. She served at Bolton before retiring in 1996. Daughter of football legend Nat Lofthouse.

    Aged: 57

    Formerly of GMP. He served at Longsight, X Dept, & G & J Divisions. Retired as Superintendent. Altrincham Member.

    Formerly of GMP John served at Longsight before moving into the X Department where he served as Sergeant, Inspector and Chief Inspector in the Tactical Firearms Unit. He also served as Chief Inspector at Stalybridge before promotion to Superintendent. After a successful secondment to the Staff at the Police College, Bramshill, he returned to Force as Sub-Divisional Commander at Cheadle Heath on the J North. He retired from there as Superintendent.

    He was an accomplished sportsman, representing GB Police at Rugby League, as well as being a very low handicap golfer.

    Aged: 82

    Formerly of Manchester & GMP. Station Officer at Didsbury Police Station, from where he retired.

    Formerly of Manchester & GMP. He served in Uniform & CID Including Special Branch. Retired as Inspector.
