Obituaries

This is the most-read part of the branch website, and the most populous. Every death notified to us since 2006 is recorded here, filed by year and searchable by name.

The branch has more than 1,700 members and cannot know all of them. Where an entry says only that someone was a branch member, that is because it is all we were told — long-standing members were not asked for much information when they joined, and for some we hold only initials.

Notices appear here with funeral details until the funeral has been held. After that, only brief details of the bereavement are kept.

Entries marked Full tribute have a longer obituary of their own.

We all end up in this list

That is why we ask you to send in your career profile. Fewer than one in twenty of our members has done so.

You have probably made a will — and doing this is no more likely to hasten your demise. It will not take long, because you already have the information. Send it, with a photograph if you can, to the Branch Secretary, and you will be remembered as you would want to be.
